Canon Powershot SD600 Digital Camera

Canon Powershot SD600 Review: The Canon PowerShot SD600 is a 6 megapixel point and shoot camera that provides good quality images and is very flexible to use. Unlike other comparable cameras in the market, the SD600 is very light on features and so makes a great camera for someone interested in taking good quality pictures. The Canon SD600 weighs less than 6 ounces and is quite small and light enough to fit in a shirt pocket. It comes with a steel metallic body that has a dense feel. These features make it small and robust. The screen is also quite nice. The SD600 has a 2.5 inch LCD screen. The SD600’s closest cousin: SD630 is identical to it except for its 3 inch LCD screen and a price difference of $50.The controls are quite simple as well, but do their job very effectively. Most of the controls are on the back of the camera and are located next to the LCD screen. A mode slider is also present on the backside, along with display, menu and print buttons. The shutter release, zoom rocker and the power button are located on the top of the camera. The camera has a standard f/2.8-to-f/4.9 zoom lens and offers a basic feature set. Apart from the 2.5 inch LCD, an optical viewfinder is also present. The viewfinder can be quite helpful during low battery.
Certain features like built-in memory, etc are absent from the SD600 but their absence does not make much difference as they are not critical. Nevertheless, the SD600 gives good performance. The startup is quite fast and the shutter never lags more than 0.7 seconds even in dim light.

The most important aspect of this camera is its image quality. The noise in the images is much lower than many cameras in its class. It performs much better in low light conditions such as indoor performances. Colors are saturated at all speeds and so images are very sharp and crisp. Lens distortion is completely absent and so is fringing.
However, the Canon SD600 still has minor problems, though these are minute and negligible. Flash pictures are not even in lighting but this can be overcome in high-ISO mode. Nevertheless, the Canon PowerShot SD600 is a good digital camera. Though its design is simple and compact, it produces top-notch quality when it comes to photos. If you are looking for a compact but reliable digital camera, then the Canon PowerShot SD600 is for you.

The quality of the Canon Powershot SD600 is great, evident from the company’s name. Though it won’t have all the features there is to have in a digital camera, its very small and can be carried practically anywhere. Its really good to have such a companion to capture all the good moments.
If you’re new to the digital world and don’t need extremely fine control over your pictures, but still retaining good quality, Canon Powershot SD600 is for you. The rechargeable battery of Canon Powershot SD600 makes it easy to charge it overnight or at times when you don’t use it, but can also be a pain when you don’t have any power source to charge your Canon Powershot SD600.
Overall, its a very good digital camera.

Canon Powershot SD600 seems like a good camera. The Canon Powershot SD600 coming from such a reputable camera company such as “Canon†already make me fell that the Canon Powershot SD600 is a pretty reliable camera. My first camera was a Canon and I used it for about 3 years so I wouldn’t expect anything bad from the look and fell of the Canon Powershot SD600.
The key feature that really amazes me is the 6.0 megapixel it provides the user (very nice).
Very nice and affordable camera I think.
