Nokia N93

Product Description:
Nokia N93 is a mobile device for spontaneous video recording. Offering uncompromised digital camcorder, telephony and rich Internet communication functionalities, the Nokia N93 features a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, DVD-like video capture and 3x optical zoom. You can connect the Nokia N93 directly to your TV for a widescreen movie experience or upload your images and video to online albums or blogs. Moreover, you can create high-quality home movies and burn them to DVD with the included Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 software.
- The Nokia N93 is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera with video-recording capabilities, and it features a cool, swivel design. This Symbian smart phone includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a music player and FM radio, and e-mail capabilities.
- The Nokia N93 is clunky and heavy, making it awkward to use as a phone. Call quality was mixed in our tests, and the external display is small.
- Though it won't replace your digital camcorder or camera, the powerful Nokia N93 does a respectable job of integrating quality multimedia capabilities into a cell phone. That said, it's a bulky handset and is best suited for convergence fanatics and gadget hounds.

Nokia N93 Reviews:
Nokia N93 combines two functions in the same device. It is both a camcorder as well as a phone. Weighing at 180 grams and measuring 56 X 118 X 28 mm in dimensions, the Nokia N93 is definitely a big phone. The features that ship it are, however, worth its size.
The N93 is basically a clamshell handset with the second swivel build into it. The 3.2 mega pixel Carl Zeiss lens is positioned in the upper part of the base of the clam shell and this feature is what sets the N93 apart from its close cousin, the Nokia N90. The N93 can be opened in two ways. You can either open it the “clamshell way†or the “laptop wayâ€. These make viewing the screen in either the portrait or landscape mode very easy. Combining both the ways, you get a variety of viewing modes for video recording and viewing. However, for recording video, it is best to have the lens facing outwards with the screen and keypad at right angles to each other with the screen in landscape mode.
The number pad that comes with the Nokia N93 is quite spacious and added to this, the keys are quite big. The soft menu is also quite big and the call and keys are similar in size. The navigation button is reasonably sized and the row of buttons that includes the menu button and multimedia key is quite proportional as well. These buttons provide easy access to the multimedia applications of the phone.
The buttons make shooting video very easy. The Nokia N93 ships with a 128Mb miniSD card and video can be stored in this card to save memory in the internal memory card. At 640 X 480 resolution, about 60 minutes of video can be recorded. The flash unit is located next to the camera and can be used both during stills and video recording. It can also be used as a flash light.
The phone can also be connected to a TV using AV-out cables to watch the video. Video can also be shared via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and infrared. The phone runs on Symbian Series 60 version 3 and can be connected to a PC using the cable and software that ship with it. As far as the software features are concerned, the phone is fully integrated with inbuilt PDF reader and QuickOffice for viewing MS Office files. It also comes with a bar code reader that can retrieve information from ordinary barcodes and the Symbian Web browser.
The video output of the Nokia N93 is quite good, but not what is expected from a camcorder. Its performance is quite good taking into the fact that video can be displayed on the TV with exceptional quality. Images are also very clear. The battery life is average. For the serious camcorder cell phone lover, the Nokia N93 is not something to be missed.
The N93 has good voice call quality, although the volume could have been louder, especially when calling in a noisy environment. In terms of regular phone features Nokia is generous, offering SMS, MMS and e-mail support and also providing full T9 predictive text input. The N93 runs the Symbian Series 60 interface, so a 1000 entry phone book and regular call logs are included, along with a calendar, alarm, calculator, converter, notes and voice recorder functions. For connectivity, the N93 is well equipped offering Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, infrared and USB 2.0 via a Pop-Port interface. A USB data cable is included in the package, which means users can transmit and synchronise data between the phone and their PC straight out of the box using the supplied Nokia PC suite software.
The N93 is capable of playing MP3, AAC and MPEG4 files thanks to the supplied RealPlayer software and there is also a stereo FM radio with 10 presets. Unfortunately, the included headphones are proprietary and no 3.5mm adapter is provided in the sales package, so you'll have to purchase one separately from Nokia if your heart is set on third party headphones. The sound quality produced is above average for a mobile phone. Users can store their multimedia files on the 50MB of internal memory, and there is also a miniSD card slot for increasing capacity. A 512MB card is included in the sales package, although the N93 can support cards up to 2GB. Unfortunately, the N93 has a slow interface; it isn't the worst we've seen, but navigating the menu and opening applications is just a little more sluggish than normal. Start-up time is over 20 seconds and changing the swivel of the handset resulted in a couple of seconds delay as the screen orientation realigned.

The Nokia N93 really looks feature rich. Its nice media feature makes it really a pleasure to use. The Nokia N93 can really flourish as a small camcorder. It can really be considered as a bonus. Its easy to carry and doesn’t need you to carry bulky cameras instead.
The different ways in which the Nokia N93 can be used would fit anyones need. The one negative side to it is its weight. It can get a bit difficult to carry and use. Its too complex features does result in sluggish running of the system. It has its upsides and downsides, but anyone needing a fast solution may have to look at other possible solutions other than the Nokia N93.

The Nokia N93 is another amazing Nokia phone. This phone is perfect for those who are always filming and taking pictures of your daily activities. 3.15 MP isn’t the best in the market but still pretty impressive. I had a first hand experience using the Nokia N93 about 3 weeks ago taking a picture for a couple in the city. As I was taking the picture on the Nokia N93 I notice how the screen resolution was pretty imprecise, better than the one I got on my phone at least.
The amount of memory available with the phone it self is not that impressive but the fact that you can buy miniSD that wields up to 2 GB of space.
Very nice phone!

Nokia N93 is more than just a phone. It is also a camcorder. I really like the way the Nokia N93 is designed too. Very sharp looking. Unlike a lot of phones today the Nokia N93 has big keys which, to me, is a good feature. You can even connect the Nokia N93 to a television so you can watch the videos that you record.
The Nokia N93 is also an mp3 player. All in all I think it is a very nice phone that anyone would be glad to own.
